Sangat disayangkan, produksinya harus terkendala, khususnya pada biaya pembuatan elektroda dan pengoperasian sistemnya. Menanggapi celah tersebut, penulis mengusulkan "Hygreed", produk elektroda berbahan karbon sekam padi dan kulit rambutan yang telah dikarbonisasi bertahap pada suhu 700 dan 800°C, diaktivasi oleh larutan KOH 2 M, dinetralkan, dikeringkan pada suhu 100°C selama 3 jam, disisipi nano partikel Fe2O3 kemudian dicetak dengan binder PVA sebagai solusi masalah yang ada. Dibuat 3 elektroda dengan komposisi berbeda, diantaranya: 1) Kontrol 1,7 gr: 0,3 gr (tanpa Fe2O3), 2) VI 0,51 gr: 1,19 gr: 0,3 gr Fe2O3 (karbon biomassa sedikit), 3) VII 1,19 gr: 0,51 gr: 0,3 gr Fe2O3 (karbon biomassa banyak). Pada uji FTIR, ketiga elektroda menunjukkan adanya gugus fungsi organic C≡C, C-O, dan C-H. Namun, munculnya serapan O-H yang cukup tajam menandakan proses karbonisasi belum optimal. Sementara pada uji sistem, elektroda melakukan elektrolisis dengan elektrolit berupa HCl 10% dialiri tegangan DC 12 Volt dan dilakukan pendataan dengan waktu 3 menit. Elektroda VII menunjukkan produksi hidrogen hijau yang terbanyak. Karbon dari sekam padi masih mengandung silika, bekerja sama dengan Fe2O3 untuk memperbesar hambatan elektroda, menambah panas yang tercipta dan mempercepat proses elektrolisis HCl, sehingga dengan waktu yang sama, terbentuk lebih banyak hidrogen dari elektroda VII.
